IIDA Meeting

Hello all

Our first IIDA meeting of the semester is scheduled this Wednesday, October 27 at 3:00 PM in AXIS cafe. Everyone is welcome to come. If you want to become a member but have not submitted a membership, please bring a form filled out along with the $50 dues.

IIDA is a great way to build a professional network and become engaged in events that you might not otherwise know about.

It is also an opportunity to generate content for your own education.

On the docket for this meeting:

Membership
Brainstorm some questions for Thursdays lecture
Get acquainted with upcoming IIDA events
Organize peer portfolio review day
Brainstorm any peripheral projects and ideas that you would like to engage in. Interested in hearing a particular person speak? Wanting to tour a specific office? Wanting to know more about marketing yourself as a designer or an employee?  Thinking about generating a project idea for greening the school, entering a competition, making a product?

We are interested in making IIDA yours.  Think of it as a forum to project yourself professionally and individually in the design world.  We can talk about all of this and whatever else comes up.  Lets make IIDA as useful and generative for each and every person involved.

See you there!

SEED Lecture Series: John Peterson of Public Architecture

All interiors students and any other interested parties, we have an awesome lecture coming up this Thursday for everyone to attend!

John Peterson, Founder and President of Public Architecture will be speaking in Timken hall at 3:00 PM on Thursday. This is a great opportunity to hear from and speak to someone who has crafted a valuable space in the design community that is devoted to philanthropic work, social change and good design in general.

Please feel free to spread the word and bring friends, family or other students.  Lectures and discussions are extremely important to developing a more cohesive understanding of design as well as establishing a strong network.  I hope everyone is excited about participating and we look forward to seeing all the interiors students and others there!

Again, this event is open to everyone!

CCA Interior Design Department Welcome!

It's about time our department gets online!  This blog is a place for Interior Design students at CCA to participate, keep in touch with one another and keep current on the happenings of the department, events—professional or otherwise—and the general goings on in the world of interiors.

All students are encouraged to participate and everyone is welcome to add submissions. We can look at this as an evolving project that can act as a forum for any number of things. If you would like to contribute to this blog, please contact Nicole Powell at nicolejayepowell@gmail.com for the crucials on how to get in and going.
